Christian Rose (1946-2023), photographer of musicians. Christian Rose has been wandering the music stages during 60 years, producing a huge collection of images and meeting numerous artists from the whole music industry. By the age of 19, while working as a freelance photographer of rock, blues, jazz and funk, he published his first photo in Pariscope, a Parisian magazine. From Pierre Boulez to Tina Turner, Miles Davis and many others, he illustrated the pages of many newspapers and magazines such as Jazz Magazine, International Herald Tribune, Libération, Le Monde, Guitare Mag... His work was also used for record sleeves and book covers. Discreet and respectful, he photographed the artists in backstage areas, dressing rooms, clubs and concert halls. He explained his secret for his closeness to artists in one sentence : “We must not forget that we are always intruders, and we must know how to make ourselves forgotten”.
